42nd Welsh International Salon

On Monday 22nd November members gathered for a presentation of the prestigious Welsh International Salon of Photography, postponed from 2020, due to the pandemic.
In this salon some 528 entrants from 51 countries submitted a total of 7033 images of which only 1607 were accepted for the exhibition. We were pleased to say that two of our members had work accepted this year.
The accepted work was broken down into 6 sections, Open Colour, Monochrome, Nature, Photojournalism, Scapes and Travel. We elected to view the Colour and Scapes sections.
The standard of work was exceptional and the range of subject matter kept our interest going throughout the evening.
More Salons are now adopting the 'Scapes' category which covers a wider range from Land, Sea, City to Industrial, as opposed to just one subject.
The Welsh, like most of the major British Salons produce an excellent glossy catalogue each year which shows all the awarded images and a good selection of those accepted.
We all agreed this was another great evening of photography.
Our next meeting on the 6th December will be given over to an evening of AV Sequences by Sheila Haycox from Exmouth.
