Members met for the first meeting of the New Year on Monday 6th January. The subject for the second Competition of the season was 'Open Colour' which produced a wide range of colourful images from Landscapes, Portraits, Night Shots to Creative work.
Our Judge for the evening was a long standing friend and supporter of the Club, George Reekie from Taunton. He had previously spent time appraising our work and delivered some very helpful and encouraging comments with his usual good natured banter.
Everybody gained something from the evening especially when George presented some of his recent work following the break, these included shots of steam trains in colour and mono with atmospheric night shots of engines in steam. By way of contrast he then showed some excellent nature images and macro work which was much appreciated by us all.
