Vice -Chairman's Evening

For the Vice-Chairman's evening, Cherrie had invited John Rock to speak at the club meeting. An invitation was extended to members of the U3A photographic group, the Monochrome group and friends of John, in addition to our own club members. About 18 people attended.
John's subject was "The Way I See it" and was intended to explore 50 years of his photographic experiences. He explained that when asked what his favourite subject was, he always replied "anything....and everything"! VIa digital images, John proceeded to entertain us with many, varied subjects. He described how when he first moved to Luccombe, he had made many new friends. We expected this subject to be portraits, but no! Faces of all descriptions appear in tree trunks, clouds and many inanimate objects. "You just need to look for them"! His numerous subjects included landscape, portraits, railways, bikes (of all descriptions), boat building and abstract, to name just a few.
It was a very entertaining evening and there were also a number of prints on display. Many thanks to John for putting some colour into a dark, Monday evening.
Thanks also to my husband, David who helped with refreshments.
