An Audio Visual Journey

On Monday 20th November the Club welcomed friends and members of other clubs and organizations for an evening of superb AV sequences.
Presenting his programme was Ian Bateman FRPS MPAGB AV-FIAP APAGB, from Exmouth. Ian has pioneered the making of digital AV sequences and was the first to be awarded a Fellowship from the RPS with a digitally projected panel of sequences.
We were shown examples of his early slide sequences which he had scanned and converted to digital for showing on modern projectors. The production of digital AV's has progressed and the creative side of these has no boundaries, limited only by the imagination of the author.
Ian's presentation covered a wide range of subjects from travel to Seattle USA, Kangaroo Island Australia, Hong Kong and Spain to the Architecture, Art and culture of Barcelona and the history of the magnificent Paris Opera House.
Humour was also included with a trip to Dismaland, the Banksy show in Weston Super Mare, followed by an animated sequence featuring Sir Antony Gormley Sculptures and the Angel of the North flying around the city rooftops.
"The Fallen" was a moving tribute to those who lost their lives in the Great War and incorporated the Shrouds of the Somme and the Poppies at the Tower of London.
All the sequences were accompanied by suitable music, sound effects and narration. We all had an evening to remember thanks to Ian's photographic and production skills.
